Never before had I had the balls to confront an unknown girl, outside school. It was the summer vacation and our family had visited one of those water parks in Florida.
Damn this girl was hot! This girl was extremely hot. Her eyes were like those olives, one finds astoundingly sour to look at. Oddly enough, I couldn't stop staring at her. Half naked in my swimming trunks, I was in the long queue; awaiting my turn to go down the 91 degree water slide. She too, was waiting with her little sister. The rest of my family had stayed behind, too afraid to go on the slide. I was the dare-devil of the family.
"How was your day?", I asked.
"What?"
Damn. I cursed myself. " Is that all you could come up with? ", I thought. Slowly, my cheeks started turning to the color of a freshly split ripe watermelon.
"How has your day been?", I asked again, this time a little less loud.
"Oh, oh yea it was good.", said the little sister.
Are all little little brothers and sisters this troublesome? I myself had a little brother, not a little less unlike the little sister.
I said; looking at the elder sister, " I heard that this ride is pretty scary. 7 seconds of free fall...". "Yeah! Now that's a good one! Keep going!", I thought...
" He he he oh, no I've been on much scarier rides.", said the elder one.
My cheeks, which had started turning a light crimson, went all the way.
I had to keep the conversation going.
" You look exactly like one of my friends.", I said , inventing wildly.
"Is she black too?", asked she.
"What?"
It was her turn to blush. Although I didn't take comments from white kids about my skin kindly, I left this one slip, as I recalled that she was extremely hot.
To break the inaudible discomfort between us, I continued, " So have you heard about the mother who went to the doctor?"
" Nope"
" 'How many of your three children are boys are boys?', asked the man.
'All', said the woman. The man goes, ' An how many girls?' "
"He he he "
Yeah! I made her laugh. Well done. I patted myself.
" It's been nice talking to you", said the girl, " I almost did not notice that we reached the slide. See you later, or never.."
"He he he ...."
OOOOSSSSHHHHHH and I went down the slide.
